Instant on and mobility encourage spontaneity in blogging. Adding a blog post has always been sort of spontaneous; that is part of how it gains authenticity: by being sudden, spontaneous, un-thoughtout. But mobile devices, micro- and mini-blogging draw on spontaneity. Tumblr and Twitter are designed for it.
