Writing wikis is different then writing books. In books you start with inspiration and you progress down the line from that point. With Blogs inspiration can come and help you out at any of the phases as a wiki is always a work in progress unlike a book which needs to have an actual final version. Wiki's can also utilize refactoring which allows them completely redesign the way that the information is displayed this is in stark contrast to books which generally only have one form at the end and do not change.
