Encouraging Participation

How do you encourage participation in your wiki?

I feel like this also goes along with a discussion we had earlier in class about debate. The idea came about when we were talking about our blogs and trying to get people to comment. Commenting takes effort and on wiki page, commenting takes on a more complex facade. Your comment is no longer just a thumbs up or a thumbs down; you're comment becomes the content. Dare I mention ThreadMode or NeutralPOV? Links may add an interactive feel to the page but to me, participation is a response publicly voiced (or in this case, typed). I'm not saying you have to go around on every page and adding in how strongly you feel about one topic or another; the key is to be constructive in your content additions.
