Blogging as Play
or Blogging while playingAs blogging becomes more professionalized, the room for blogging as play shrinks. Bloggers tend to move away from the playful and towards the purposeful. But there are continuing elements of play in a lot of posts - especially in those of new bloggers.

- pictures of the cat
- more lists
- short posts that end without purpose
- transcriptions of snippets of dialog overheard
- posting the results of personality quizzes
- ...
Even these play-like posts that started as experiments become part of the history of the collection. This is how a genre forms.
