AsynchronousWikiNotes
This page goes along with CollaborativeCourseNotesThere are a number of ways to approach WikiNotes asynchronously - some better than others. This page will outline suggestions. The trick is multi-fold:
- everybody needs to know what needs to be done
- everybody needs to do what needs to be done
- everybody needs to visit the notes page more than once to develop it beyond its first draft
One approach
Working with Jill Walker Rettberg, Blogging.- Someone use the headings in the text to summarize Rettberg's points, just as you were laying out a set of notes.
- This will guide the first pass through the material.
- Others visit the page and comment on and develop those points further. Do these as notes signed with your WikiName.
- Others also link to other notes on the wiki, and to external sites and pages that fill out the frame.
- Someone reviews the entire page and drafts a summary.
- In the summary, pull together ideas and themes that cross the heading boundaries.
- Everyone visits the summary and revises and edits it to improve it.
