- Krug shows us that we skim pages to gain information
- Should reading be purposefully examined or only used to find vital information
- Should a reader be engaged with a text
- Are there several purposes to reading
- "Does layout have any bearing on actual reading performance?" Krug would say yes, Marshall leaves the question open for examination
- Krug believes a conventional online layout will help users find information faster, while Marshall doesn't think layout makes a difference in reading
