Cunningham's Law

Cunningham's Law is an eponymous law named after wiki originator Ward Cunningham about statement made to colleague Steven McGready regarding the rise of networking and communication technologies in the early 1980s.

"The best way to get the right answer on the Internet is not to ask a question, it's to post the wrong answer."

Cunningham's Law reinforces how important it is be to be a GoodWikiCitizen and LetHotPagesCool when working with wikis. The massive and constantly expanding Wikipeida seems to be one of the best examples of this law, as WikisAndAuthority often comes into play when those with less knowledge about a particular topic rub collaborate anonymously with experts or experienced AmateurContributors on sites like Wikipedia and on other forms of internet communication/collaboration tools. The above quote and the image below also speak to the difficulty that wikis sometimes face in terms of maintaining civil, orderly collaboration in the face of (albeit rare) uncompromising contributors and editors.
