Tour of Suspension Of: Syverson
Notes
- The first glance at the blog gives a night club feel because the background is dark and has a photo showing the band playing at a concert.
- There are photos of the band members on some of the blog entry pages.
- The blogroll contains links to web pages that relate to the band, like the band's myspace and youtube web pages.
- The blogs stay fairly up to date.
- Some days have more than one blog entry.
- The greatest length between two blog entries was five days, and that was excluding the entries that had seven day span between them because we were on spring break.
- The latest blog had a link to a weather website, which is helpful for anyone who would like to know what's going on outside.
- The link to their myspace page showed how many people are friends of the band, the site displayed some of their recorded songs, shows their mascot, gives the audience some general info about the band, and it shows a funny about section where it describes how the got started.
- The following links on the Feb 25 blog entry didn't work: Pfazar, In Pursuit of Tomorrow, and Suspension Of.
- The video on that entry worked well though.
- The pictures on that entry looked good too.
- The link to the youtube channel worked and I got to look at the band perform some songs.
- The blog entries are sticking to the proposal goals, they are remaining just news updates and progress reports of how the band is coming along.
- The
About The Band page is short and to the point about when and how the band got started. (Which I think is a great think because you don't want to lose the interest of someone by having in lengthy bio section.)
- The page called
The Guys has a pattern of listing five questions and having answers to them.
- The last question on each band members section has a funny answer, and the mascot section is just hilarious. (At least I think so anyway.)
- The videos page has four videos on it with the band performing.
- As far as linking goes all of the links work except for the ones listed above.
- In one of the entries a fellow band member had posted some photos on the band's
MySpace page, and then Adam posted them on the band's blog.
- Adam's personal blog is where he focuses on himself.

In General
The project is fitting with the the proposal that Adam made before he started the project. He is maintaining the newsy update of the band, and he is giving a step by step view as to how the recording of the bands first album is going. The band is on schedule with their recording as Adam points out in some of his blogs. Also in his blogs you get a feel that the band is very thankful to the band
The Fifth Sun for letting them use their recording studio, and for helping them make their recordings. Adam points out that the members of
The Fifth Sun are helping them do their recordings in his second
March 2nd blog.
Strong Points
I think the photos in the blogs are very interesting because they show what the band looks like when they are playing at a concert, or what they look like when they are just hanging out at someone's house.
The videos are very helpful to the blog because we actually get to see what you look like when you perform, and how you sound while you perform. I myself don't know much about the type of music they play, but from watching the videos I can tell that the band is in tune with each other and that they remain consistent with the beat the was given before each song. What I mean is that when I listen to the band, I don't hear echoes of someone playing a couple of notes, and I don't hear someone playing before or after the other band members.
I think the background of the blog is helpful to the band's image because it's dark like a night club, and the red tint on the header represents to me the blood of a heavy metal band. (I'm sorry if I got the genre wrong, but that's what your music sounded like to me.)
Tour of The World of Will
Notes
- The background covers what she wanted in her proposal. It's a black background with white lettering, and the header does pose a modern feel to the page because it has the technological effects of modern art.
- The page called
Call me Sarea gives a brief description of her.
- The page called
Project Shakespeare gives a clear description of what her blog is going to be about.
- The page called
Saera's Shakespearean Surprise gives a a clear yet story-telling feel as to how Sarah became interesting in Shakespeare.
- The blogroll has links that focus on sites that discuss Shakespeare and his plays.
- The categories have a titles that refer to Shakespeare's plays or himself, and each blog entry is about the play or him, and each blog is fully developed to discuss the topic of the blog title. A good example is one entry called
Ways to Meet Shakespeare: A Beginners List of Do's and Don'ts
- The biggest span between two blog entries was nine days, and that was because we were on break for some of those days.
- The next biggest span was five days.
- Some days there are two blog entries.
- Each blog entry is long and fully developed.
- Some blogs have a biblical entry, like on March 13th's entry. It has a reference to Romans 6:7-13.
- There aren't any pictures on the blog site.
- There is only one entry in the Uncategorized section of the blog, and that's because Sarah was announcing that she was starting her blog about Shakespeare.
- The A Midsummer's Night Dream has three entries.
- The Hamlet category has three entries.
- The King Lear category has one entry.
- The Measure for Measure category has three entries.
- The Merchant of Venice category has four entries.
- The Shakespeare is Human category has two entries.
- The Tempest category has three entries.
- The Twelfth Night has three entries.
- The class notes have a historical feel to them when they discuss the history of the play, but then they get a more personal feel to them when it seems that Sarah or her professor make comments on the play that aren't historical.

The project is fitting with the project proposal because has a each entry enters the blog the plays Sarah selected bring an in depth view of what the plays are like, and what the plot of each play looks like. The entries are very well developed with detail about the play the entry is discussing that you learn something new with each entry. As I go through the entries I can tell that Sarah has a great liking for Shakespeare. (I know she states it a few times throughout her blog, but you can really see her passion for him as she discusses his plays in great detail.)
Strong Points
Each entry is indepth about a play, but not in so much detail that it gets boring for a reader. Her tone in the entries is very conversational to make the reader feel like they are having a discussion about Shakespeare instead of a lesson.
I think the background of the blog gives a nice feeling that you're reading a Shakespearean play at night in the light of your bedroom. It's almost a comfortable feeling I get while looking through the entries.
One thing I would advise though is to maybe try and bring in some photos of people performing the plays of Shakespeare to break up the text in the blog. Even thought the entries are very developed it's a little daunting to read so much text without a break. I think adding pictures would solve that problem, and give a little more insight as to what the settings of a Shakespearean play would look like in the flesh.
Tour of Veteran Dissent
Notes
- The background of the blog is white, which gives a feeling of innocence.
- The anti-war pictures show that the blogger is against war.
- The blogroll has links to web pages that deal with people who were influenced by war efforts.
- The about me section gives a very brief description about the author and what will be contained in the blog.
- The category called
Engl 5177 Weblog Project is where the posts fit into the proposal.
- He has eight entries that involve a man named Nietzsche. From some of Chris's favorite passages from what Nietzsche write to Nietzsche's critique of the Christian Approach to Life.
- Some photos are anti-something, whether it's Anti-Christ or Anti-War.
- There are videos on the blog.
- Some videos are of anti-war protests, which fits to the theme of the blog.
- The theme of the blog seems to be anti-war.
- All entries are very developed to discuss the title of the blog entry.
- There is an entry where it displays different medals.
- The biggest span between two blogs was five days. And the span was from his first entry that related to the project for class, and the entry after it.

In general
The project seems to fit with the proposal because he his discussing what is happening with veterans from wars past and present. He also goes into detail as to what is happening with the anti-war effort currently taking place. You can tell that Chris is very Anti-War from the photos he publishes, and from the tone he uses in his entries. However, his tone doesn't force his beliefs on you, it's a more conversational tone that keeps a readers interest instead of putting a reader off.
Strong Points
The pictures are interesting because they are (from what I can guess) anti-war symbols for the campaigns. The videos are very interesting too because they show how people act at a protest. Even though they are protesting they don't seem to want to start a riot.
Contract for Grade
I'm contracting for the 150 point grade. I hope you find that I look a long lunch.
