Welcome to Studio Tour 1!
As far as points go, I'm hoping for at least 75.

- The majority of the posts are no more than 2 days apart.
- Every post has one or ore pictures/videos attached.

- The blog includes many tags to related content.
- A developed blogroll.
- Blogger chooses very familiar movies, music, and books to write about, which captures attention.
- Post lengths average between 5 and 10+ paragraphs.
In the classic movies post ?They don?t make ?em like they used to?, she mentions memorable movie titles and actors (also includes their pictures of the actors).
As the posts progress, we learn more about who the blogger is, her likes/dislikes, and preferences.
Writer summarizes the content of the books and movies she is blogging about w/out giving away ?spoilers? to plots.
- Example: ?In the beginning there was?Wolverine? (about the new X-Men Origins movie based on the character of Wolverine)
Blogger writes about future movie releases as well as current and past movies.
- She gives updates on what projects the actors/directors are currently working on as well as release dates.
- Creates intrigue.
- Provides links to sources.
Topics are relatable to popular interests of others ? very popular series/titles.
- Twilight DVD release
- POTC 4
- Tim Burton?s production of Alice in Wonderland
- X-Men origin movie?s upcoming release
I found myself wanting to see a little bit more about music (based on my own avid interest in it).
- She has written about musical groups that are familiar and intriguing to me, personally, as a reader.
Writer states her opinions of the various aspects of pop culture in playful, humorous, and tasteful ways. She gives a recap of her own experiences with the movies she has seen, books she has read, and music she has listened to.
On the post, ?A re-found favorite? ? about The Death of a Salesman
- The blog not only explains what the play is about, but it also gives the reader a brief analysis on some of the play?s characters.
- Blogger expresses her own feelings toward the play and its characters.
- She creates a renewed interest in the classic play.
Overall, this is a very entertaining blog with just the right amount of opinion and critique on subjects. It follows the project proposal nicely.
Alpha's Place by Omann
Notes:
- Posts are very consistent. 1-3+ on some days.
- Each post provides author?s commentary on the topics blogged about.
- Author provides sufficient information on the topics he is blogging about.
- Shorter posts usually all in one paragraph (though sometimes hard to read all at once).
- The blog has stayed true to the project proposal by providing fresh news on what is going on in the tech industry.
- Each post provides links at the end.
The author often follows up on previous posts such as?
- March 27, 2009: Microsoft taking flack over not wanting to agree to a document we no nothing about. Followed up on March 28, 2009: More on the ?open? Cloud Manifesto.
Provides appropriate links for readers who are interested in learning more about the topic he is writing about.
- Example: The History of Microsoft. Links to videos provided at bottom of the post.
Overall, this is a very informative blog. It gives the reader a view of the internal workings of the tech industry, providing a little bit of insight into their politics and marketing. One of the major reasons why we read blogs is to get another person?s view on topics as well as get information, and the posts on Alpha?s Place are tastefully opinionated and very insightful. It is clear that the author is very technologically experienced and knowledgeable of the topics he is writing about.
Although the blog is geared toward a technologically savvy audience, it may be hard for a few interested layman readers to understand what the author is talking about. However, the posts may appeal to those who are interested in and use a lot of technology but don?t know much about it, such as owners of computers and other electronic devices like iPhones, MP3 players, and other handhelds.
When I look at a blog, one of the very first things I do is look at their ?About? page to learn what I can about the blogger. The About page on Alpha?s Place provides information on the author?s college major, a brief history of his experience with computers and what computer programs he is currently using, and also what projects he is currently working on. This information could be relatable to some readers and raise their interest in the blog.
Though it is hard for me to follow some of the information presented on the blog (because I?m a tech layman), such familiar names as Apple and Microsoft drew me in. The blog provides an open window to the inner workings of technology marketing and development.
America?s Next Top Model: Cycle 12 by Bridget Corson
Notes:
- Includes photos and background info on the judges.
- Includes episode summaries with info on competitions, photo shoots, judging panel results, and also recaps the personal drama going on between the contestants.
- Each episode summary includes the winning contestant?s photo.
- The summaries include each of the judges? comments about the contestants? photographs.
- Each contestant has her own bio page with photos, though some have yet to have info added.
- Each contestant seems to have their winning photos added to their bio page, showing their progression through the competition.
Overall, this wiki has gotten off to a very good start. It?s well organized and easy to navigate. Since it is the middle of the twelfth season, it will be a good source of information for those that are following the show but may have missed an episode here and there.
I?ve never seen ANTM, so I had to do a little bit of research by watching some of the past seasons to follow up on the twelfth cycle. As I was looking at the wiki, I found myself wanting to know more about the show?s background. I especially wanted to know more about the former judges, like Twiggy, who were on the panel during the past seasons.
I also wanted to know more about Elite Model Management, Cover Girl, and the various magazine publications mentioned on some of the bio pages.
- The wiki could use more links to pages about various guests seen on the show (celebrities, fashion icons, designers, makeup artists, photographers, former ANTM competitors, magazine editors, modeling agency representatives, etc.)
I became interested in learning about some of the various styles they were exhibiting during the photo shoots and competitions. Words like "coutour" (i hope i spelled that right) and "fierce" sort of stood out in my mind, and i wanted to know about their definitions. In a way, the wiki could become sort of like a dictionary for certain terms used on the show and how they are applied to what is happening.
