As more people are becoming aware of growing technology, wikis are more widely being used and accepted in education.

Wikis Allow students to work collaboratively
Projects can be worked on at any time, from any place. Students can collectively work on assignments without having to be in the same room. Group members can add content or comments on project pages for their fellow members. Issues and ideas can be brought up and taken care of outside of the classroom. Class meetings can be held without any students being in a classroom. Students can attend class in their pajamas in the comfort of their own home.

Students and staff can track progress wikis
Wikis allow people to see recent changes to pages with a simple click of the mouse. Other students or teachers can check to see what edits have been made to pages. This helps cut down on the actual grading process. Now with just one click, teachers are able to see what students are actually participating in the class or not.

Wikis give students an audience
Since they are on the internet, wikis are visible to nearly everyone. Students can create content and receive feedback on their work. This has become very beneficial to students that either don't write well, or for those students that just like to recieve feedback on what they can do to improve their paper.

Wikis are easy to learn how to use
Wikis simplify the process of creating and maintaining a website. No prior knowledge of coding is necessary to become comfortable editing wikis. Style guides and editing instructions can be easily found on the internet for those who feel they need extra help. There is really no way that you are able to wreck anything that cannot be fixed in them.
