Welcome!
My name is Christa Smith and I am a junior here at BSU. This is my first semester here as a transfer student. Before I got here, I graduated from Normandale Community College with an AA degree with an emphasis in Mass Communication. My current pursuit is a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Creative and Professional Writing.
About myself
I was born on June 2, 1987 to Robert and Cheryl Smith, and was raised in Bloomington, Minnesota. I have an older brother named Mark who is three years ahead of me. He's really into fishing and is incredibly jealous that I get to come up here and go to school right next to this great big lake. However, I told him not to worry because whenever he gets around to traveling up here for a visit, he can bring his ice fishing gear and set up camp on Lake Bemidji. I myself like to fish, but preferably in the summer when the sun is bright so I can catch a tan (or an intensely painful sunburn) or maybe read a book instead if nothing's biting.
One of my biggest hobbies, of course, is writing. Fiction is what I primarily write, but I occasionally delve into a little bit of poetry and nonfiction as well. In order to improve my writing, I read a lot. Most of the things I read are fiction, usually from short story anthologies. After graduating from Bemidji State university, I plan to seek out a career as a technical and freelance writer. My life's goal would be to write at least one novel.
"You can't deny laughter; when it comes, it plops down in your favorite chair and stays as long as it wants." - Stephen King, Author
I've been known to laugh at the dumbest things, but I find that laughter lightens the day's burdens significantly.
