Wild Hare

Corner of 6th and Minnesota
Downtown, Bemidji

Open: Monday thru Friday 7am-5pm, Saturday 9am-3pm, closed Sundays(which seems interesting.

Music: New Age, Radio, I would describe as music you would hear on the current

Newsstand: In back of store hard to see from entrance, the is also a back entrance with a small parking lot some people came in from this direction which put the newsstand directly in their path

Art: Local art is displayed for purchase, I believe they feature a local artist every month and host a reception every first friday of the month from 3-5.

Accepts: Only cash and checks, they state "Until the Credit Card Corporates make processing plastic cards affordable for small businesses like ours, WE DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT AND DEBIT CARDS!!"

Menu: Serves coffee, tea, beer, wine, snakes(Brena thats funny I'm going to leave it in there for laughter) *snacks and actual meals. After the Artist reception they have a first friday wine bar featuring a new evening menu every month with a beer and wine list to match.
I had an iced mocha which was delicious and the chicken satay wrap, was amazing though a bit messy.
They also offer catering

Cost: Rather pricey for meals, but offers organic foods and fair trade and organic coffee beans from Alakef Coffee Roasters in Duluth, Mn

Plants: Have live plants for decoration, quite a few of them, Brena thought they were fake at first.

Bathrooms: No clear indication to point you in the direction of the lavatories, but they are located in the family play area which is nice. The family play area is definitely something to point out because it is very disconnected from the rest of the seating areas. This is def a plus for a mom with small kids.

Light: Is extremely bright with large windows located in the front and back, great for reading.

Acoustics: Can hear other conversations that are several feet away.

Style: Italian type decor. The main part of the building definitely had a face lift, refinished original wood floors new paint and great lighting

Drive Thru: No

Crowd: Gains older crowd or at least while we were there on thurs afternoon.

Wi-Fi: yes

Location: Next to police station which may give safe feeling, parking could be a slight issue, 15 min parking in front of the building, 1 hour parking on the side and the limited parking lot in the back.
