High Time for Mens Rights

A group of Democratic and Republican legislators have mounted a campaign to change the serious imbalance of bills protecting men's rights. The bills being proposed are aimed at unjust discriminatory laws toward men, and the need to .

Virginia State Sen. Janet Howell (D-Fairfax) told the Huffington Post "We need some gender equity here," The basic rights of men have been overlooked for long enough

To protest a bill that would require women to undergo an ultrasound before having an abortion, Virginia State Sen. Janet Howell (D-Fairfax) on Monday attached an amendment that would require men to have a rectal exam and a cardiac stress test before obtaining a prescription for erectile dysfunction medication.
The Republican-controlled, and male-dominated senate narrowly rejected the amendment Monday by a vote of 21 to 19, but passed the mandatory ultrasound bill in a voice vote

Because I love them I need to spread the word that men in this country have been unjustly discriminated against for decades. It's time the subject of men's reproductive rights join the political arena. We have been too one-sided spending all our time - and umpteen laws - on solely women's reproductive rights.

Turner's bill

Just the Facts, Ma'am

My newest hero is Ohio State Sen. Nina Turner for sounding the alarm about Men's Reproductive Rights. I feel it is my duty as a woman to end the egregious lack of attention my male counterparts have historically received. Women's Reproductive Rights have dominated the debate for long enough. It is time to put aside our concerns over a woman's rights to her body and concentrate on that extraordinary thing that is the male body.

I am seriously aggrieved over the willy-nilly free-for-all that is Viagra. Physicians routinely hand out this controlled substance like gumballs from a candy machine. Men! These are your gumballs we're talking about. You know the care by which you protect them. You know how many times a day you think about them. You understand that they sometimes have minds of their own. You know they are a separate, but equal part of your body. It is time they had their own laws.

Address the disparity between the amount of attention women's reproductive rights receive and the vast bias against the equally important issue of men's reproductive rights.

What Can We Do?

It is vitally important that we women correct a terrible injustice When it comes to a man's most valued attribute we cannot stand silently by. We must raise the flag of awareness, stiffen the legislative rules, be a unit of change, sharpen the swords of battle, salute the staff of legislature etc... Reproductive health has been woefully ignored for half , yes, half our country's population! How did we as a society, allow this to happen?

I am honored to be one of the voices in the chorus to right this terrible wrong. I know my male friends will be grateful that I am taking up of this worthy cause. In this election year, I will bring to the forefront the serious need for Men's Reproductive Rights to become front and center in the political debate.

Bullet points?

Yes > A humorous and rhetorical bent could be used for the article, using Senator Nina Turner's piece as a jumping off point. Some ideas from Ms. Turner include:

Mandatory meeting with a sex therapist before receiving Viagra

Notifying and obtaining written approval from your wife or partner, of your wish to obtain the drug's approval before receiving a prescription for Viagra.

Required counseling on the option of abstinence.

An all female committee to investigate the importance of Viagra; it's uses, possible side affects, and validity as an insurable prescription.

Because I Love Men

Mae West loved men. She liked 'em strong, virile, and handsome. I love men too. I like to say that I'm single because I cannot love just one man - I love them all. (Not literally, of course...so settle down.) One of Mae West's most famous quotes was "A hard man is good to find." I couldn't have said it better myself. If you don't know of her, you undoubtedly know her famous quotes.
