The Gamer
My name is Yami, or at least, that’s what I claim. I am a student of creative and professional writing having a continual love affair with sci-fi and fantasy. After I graduate I will be focusing on my fantasy novel that has been in the workings for over a decade.I enjoy writing about video games, namely reviews on my experience with games. This includes (but is not limited to) the characters, the storyline, graphic, music and gameplay in general. Occasionally I write reviews on novels and movies, but I tend to spend all of my free time playing video games.
I have an unhealthy obsession with the series Mass Effect and Dragon Age… as well as Bioshock, Dead Space and Gears of War (more games coming out soon!). If these titles aren’t familiar they are within the genre of sci-fi and fantasy—which only proves to intensify my need to write such things. It is also part of my job to know things about games, so I don’t at all feel badly about having preordered a handful of games coming out this Spring 2013.
And on that note, being an active gamer also makes me poor.

Even my cat's a gamer.
The Nerd
My name isn’t Yami, but it’s what I force everyone to call me because my real name is too common. I am an adult that still enjoys to do kid-like things every so often. I am still a strong fan of anime and manga. I like to draw here and there, sometimes as fan art, other times to illustrate my writing. I am on my last year of college majoring in Creative and Professional Writing with minors in Biology, Psychology and English.I spend my spare time killing time with nonsensical things such as creating costumes for Anime Detour. Since I first discovered this mass gathering of nerds in 2008, I have since returned every year faithfully. My costumes have included Haku from Naruto, Jade from Tales of the Abyss, Austria from Axis Powers Hetalia, Nick from Left 4 Dead 2 and a female Medic from Team Fortress 2 (to which I will be returning as this year).
I am a nerd at heart and continue to feed my childish heart with a ridiculous 3-day event that is remembered only by experience, for I am too distracted to ever remember to take a single damn picture.

At least other people take pictures for me.
The Student
I am Yami, a 23 year old student of Creative and Professional Writing with minors in Biology, Psychology and English. I spend my days juggling my last semester of university and my two jobs. After I graduate I hope to get a part time job and on the side write to my hearts content until I finally finish writing something that can be published. I hope to make a career out of my creative brain, for I seem to have no other talents beyond it.I find philosophy, ethics, religion and politics all fascinating. I enjoy a good debate, but always want to be able to shake the other persons hand at the end and agree to disagree if that is the case.
I am a “practicing” Buddhist, but I am also a terrible one.
My favorite things to do are write, draw, play video games, bake and cook.
