Writer's Name: Kim Monson

Working title: Random Thoughts of My Gardens

What will the article cover? Various spring and summer gardening experiences - from cultivation to harvest time. What will it be about? My appreciation for all things that grow from the Earth.

What stance will you take? p 32, and again on p 82: General interest; informative.

Consider audience fit: Upper Midwest gardeners - expert and novice alike.

Consider how the article will make contact with readers - chap 3, and chap 4, p 80 - 81: Physically, by searching "midwest gardens" or "gardening." Emotionally, by (attempting) to inspire people to plant a seed and watch how it grows.

Where might the article fit on TIO: section and category, either existing or one that will collect others? Leisure or summertime activities; Gardening.

Research and practices you'll need to do to write the article:
Mostly, this article will be centered on my own experiences, however, I might have to refer to a book or a website for some of the more technical or scientific verbiage - i.e., sunflower: helianthus annuus.

What it might link to - literally and figuratively:
Horticulture websites, such as the Minnesota Arboretum; websites where a person can explore different varieties of plants (the MN Arboretum is a good place to start); organic seed catalog websites (stressing "organic" because, sadly enough, these days, not a lot of seeds are capable of regeneration).

Article length:
1728 words (haha, just kidding ... about 1800 ... some of those scientific words are HUGE).
