We've completed a first pass at considering the rhetorical situation. My notes are in DebriefingOnAspectsOfRhetSitExercise. These are notes on your work with the exercise, with some examples of notes that develop insight, and advice on method. They also develop the idea of the digital rhetorical situation further, based on what you have written about it in your notes. The notes are in draft until end of day of Sunday, but you're welcome to consider them and comment on the as I draft them. Post comments in the Comments section, or edit the page and add your notes directly to my text. That's the wiki way: collaborative editing. The notes are not optional reading, and they are not re-hashings of ideas in the text. They add to the text. They have the same status as the text itself: reading required for moving forward in the course.
To prepare for class for the 15th, review the following material BEFORE class so you can work with it during class.
- Review DebriefingOnAspectsOfRhetSitExercise (posted in draft)
- Review The Texualized Rhetorical Situation, in Longaker, pp 15 - 20. My NotesOnTheTexualizedRhetoricalSituation present an example of how the texualized situation applies in a text message.
- Local students: We'll start a second exercise in class. Online students will see the same exercise Tues morning, due Sun evening.

- The Overwrite warning. If you save a page, then use the back button rather than double-clicking to get back to editing, you might get an Overwrite warning in red. That only means the wiki is confused. Select all the text you're editing, copy it, then Cancel the save. After you save, see if the version is complete. It usually is. But if not, double-click to edit the page, select everything, then paste the version you have on the clipboard into the wiki and save.
- Use RecentComments at the top of the page to check on FAQs.
