A new understanding of efficacy and affordances.

Writing in digital and new media: web sites, blogs, wikis, sound, images, video files, CD-ROMs, the adapted forms of txt and IM, and the hybrid of digital and paper technologies. the writer at work in a social network. work in progress offered for public editing. engaging in local and global experiments in writing. Sophie. the screen as paper and links as narrative. abandoning the ideologies of narrative and linearity for poetry and text as image. the letter and word as design.

Mobile Writing and Learning
What can you write in 160 characters while in motion? A poem? a short story? a vow? a warning? an oath? How can you learn via Twitter, IM, sms, and cell phone pics?

Persuasive Technology
How Facebook is designed to persuade you to update your profile and post to walls. How your car is designed to persuade you to slow down. How your cellphone is designed to persuade you to text. Toys.
